Tiger Fans!

Monday night, February 10 our JV and varsity baseball teams travelled to Van Vleck for their first scrimmage of the season. Our baseball coaches were very pleased with the outcome and look forward to the next two scrimmages to better prepare their athletes for the season to come. Our boys’ and girls’ soccer teams also battled against El Campo and coincidentally, both teams ended their games with a tie.

Tuesday, February 11 our Lady Tigers defeated Fulshear, 42-34, and clinched third place for the 2019-2020 basketball season.

They will be playing their bi-district match on Monday of next week (February 17) against La Grange in Katy at Leonard E. Merrill Center. Game time is 5:30 p.m.

Our boys’ basketball teams battled against a tough Fulshear squad and lost with a score of 66-50. They are now 5-5 in district and have two difficult games ahead with Stafford and Needville, but they are keeping their eyes on clinching that playoff spot. Their last regular game of the season will be a home game next week against Needville.

Our WHS Lady Tigers softball team also played their third and final scrimmage of the season against Industrial. These young athletes have worked so hard and we look forward to seeing what they have to offer once the regular season begins next week.

We have plenty of events that started happened Friday and continued Saturday. Our spring tennis team is currently in Corpus Christi participating in the Corpus Christi Spring Fling. Our JV and varsity baseball teams will be traveling to Danbury for their second scrimmage, our JV and varsity softball teams will be headed to play Rosenberg Terry, and our freshman, JV, and varsity basketball teams were on the road to Stafford Friday. On Saturday morning, our boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will be headed to Sweeny to take on the Bulldogs.

We are very proud of all our coaches and athletes for the hard work and dedication that they put in each and every day, and we want to thank you all for your continued support of our athletic programs. The spring season is very busy – but we hope to see you out there in the seats cheering us on!

Go Tigers!
