The Boling Bulldogs won the team title at the Sealy Meet, outdistancing the host Tigers, as well as Bellville, Needville and East Bernard.
Boling earned 25 points, and Sealy 40 points.
Four Bulldog runners finished in the top 15, with Marc Mendoza finishing first with a time of 17.12.
Other BHS athletes who followed were Adan Alvarez (sixth place, 17.57 time), Ross Hough (seventh, 17.59), Jordan Todd (15th, 18.59), Kaden Hansen (17th, 19.16), Abraham Garcia (20th, 19.33), and Garrett Gavranovic (25th, 19.52).
Rounding out the BHS runners were Cameron Spears (20.43) and Lance Kacian (21.01), respectively.
Coach Jonathan Gibson said Sealy was a good meet for his boys to compete in after finishing first for the fourth consecutive time.
East Bernard’s Colby Kurtz won the individual title after he crossed first with a time of 17.04.
His Brahma teammates finishing in the top 25 were Barrett Whitley (14th, 18.53), Chris Kopecky (19th, 19.29), and Cade Janacek (24th, 19.45).
For the girls, Boling’s Kenna Gibson earned championship status as an individual. She finished just ahead of an EBHS runner with a time of 13.08.
A host of Boling runners came in 14th and after, including Rachel Wittig (14th place, 14.40 time), Suzanna Garcia (15th, 14.45), Ana Gonzales (19th, 15.02), Evyn Flores (22nd, 15.04), and Alana Rodriguez (36th, 15.41).
“We got third behind regional champ East Bernard and a very stout 4A Sealy team,” Gibson said.
