After nine games, the Wharton Runnin’ Tigers own a 9-1 record, their last win coming on Friday, Dec. 20 against Galena Park (60-44). 

This victory was the second since WHS came back from the Devine Tournament and placed second. 

The Runnin’ Tigers also defeated Yoakum, 64-42, in a game played Tuesday, Dec. 17. Leading WHS in scoring against Yoakum in the away game were James Jones (20 points), R’Detric Glover (11) and Roy Gentry (10). The Runnin’ Tigers led 36-15 at halftime of the Yoakum game.

WHS will be playing in the Schulenberg Tournament beginning Monday, Dec. 30.

The Runnin’ Tigers will take on Sacred Heart at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 30, followed by Bellville at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31 and Moulton at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 31.
