The East Bernard Brahmas defeated the Rice Consolidated Raiders, 2-0, at Memorial Stadium, Friday, Oct. 16.
The victory improves the Brahmas’ district record to 3-0, and 6-1 on the season. RC (1-2, 2-5) did enough to make the game competitive in the first half and even into the third quarter before EB began to slowly stretch its lead.
The only score in the first half came on a Niklas Schatz 1-yard run with 7:48 showing on the clock. Kicker Grant Prazak had two point after attempts.
RC didn’t give up any turnovers, so everything that EB did had to be earned the old fashioned way – on offense.
The team had 245 total rushing yards, led by Andrew Dirba (14 carries, 122 yards), who would score twice in the second half. His came on 16-yard and 13-yard carries. Quarterback Dallas Novicke passed for 40 yards on 4-of-9 attempts.
RC earned 223 yards of total offense.
EBHS plays an away game next Friday, Oct. 23 at Tidehaven.

Boling scores TDs
Halletsville scored 21 points in the first quarter and 28 points in the second quarter to pave the way for a road victory against the Boling Bulldogs at Bulldog Stadium on Friday, Oct. 16.
The BHS loss drops the team to 3-3 on the season, and 0-2 in district.
The Bulldogs did struggle offensively, earning 161 yards of total offense, while gaining 10 first downs.
The Bulldogs were forced to punt five times, and fumbled the possession away three times.
The BHS scores came in the second half off long offensive drives. Jastin Arbing and Colby Chilek each scored on a 1-yard run in the third and fourth quarters. Jaxson Urbanek booted two PATs.
For Halletsville, it scored on eight of its 12 offensive drives. Two of those stops came courtesy of BHS turnovers by Cody Schindler and Blake Savage.
Boling plays an away game next Friday at Hitchcock.
