The Boling Bulldogs won their Homecoming game at Bulldog Stadium on Friday, Sept. 26. The 41-0 non-district victory came against a Brookshire Royal team that was playing its first game of the year. 

BHS (3-1) scored a touchdown in the first quarter on a Gage Eastep 17-yard run, and scored 20 more points in the second quarter to ice the game. Eastep (34 yards), Blaise Hubenak, (26 yards), and Christian Montalvo (7 yards) each scored on runs. 

Jaxson Urbanek, who plays quarterback and kicker, was 4-of-5 on his point-after attempts.

Third quarter scoring by Boling came from Eastep once again, this time for 10 yards and 5 yard totes into the end zone.

Eastep led all rushers with 79 yards, followed by teammate Hubenak for 79 yards. BHS had a combined 406 yards rushing and Urbanek 84 yards on 1-of-4 pass completions.

Defensively, Blayze Becerra had an interception. Colby Chilek had a team high 5 solo tackles, followed by Montalvo’s four tackles.

Royal had 97 yards of total offense.

East Bernard win big

The East Bernard Brahmas got back to winning after losing their game to Shiner a week ago. And the victory came in a big way at home against Brazos in a 62-6 win.

EBHS amassed 392 yards of total offense.

The Brahmas raced out to a 28-0 first quarter lead, and a 35-0 score in the second quarter before Brazos found the end zone. East Bernard quarterback Dallas Novicke had three touchdown receptions (Andrew Schmidt 58 yards, Niklas Schatz 7 yards, and Calen Magness (24 yards), and running backs Andrew Dirba and Devin Chapman each shared a rushing score for a 35-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Dirba (69-yard run) and Kaleb Marek (7-yard run) each scored.

EBHS had two third quarter scores from Braydon Lemos on an 83-yard kickoff return and a Dirba 3-yard run.

Prazak had eight PATs in the game.

Dirba led all rushers with 139 yards on just six carries. Chapman had 86 yards on seven carries.

On defense, EBHS’s Blake Jedlicka had a sack, and Olvera and Prazak an interception each.

EBHS improved to 4-1 on the year. Brazos has a 1-4 record.
