Esperanza Espinoza

Esperanza “Hope” Espinoza, age 79, of Wharton, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born on May 3, 1932 in Sugar Land, the daughter of the late Samuel Morales and Guadalupe Mata Morales.

Mrs. Espinoza had been a resident of Wharton for 50-plus years and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. She married Modesto “Morris” Espinoza on Oct. 8, 1954 in Wharton and he preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1992. A son, Morris Espinoza Jr., a sister, Connie Rangel, and two brothers, Roy Morales and Samuel Morales Jr., also preceded her in death. She worked as a private duty nurse for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed dancing and knitting.
