Boyd “Joel” Griffin, 74, of Cuero, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020. He was born July 10, 1946 in Wharton to Boyd and Sue Border Griffin. Joel married Gloria Ann Myers, Oct. 21, 1983 in Carson City, Nevada. Joel was a people person who never met a stranger. He enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. Joel was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, golfing and golf spectating. He was a lover of animals, especially his sidekick – a white lab named “Happy.”

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gloria Ann Griffin; sons: Austin Griffin of Lafayette, Indiana, Shannon (McGiusti) Griffin of Texas City, and Neal Griffin of Victoria; sister Judge Susan Lowery of Fulshear.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Boyd Griffin and Sue Border Hudgins.

The family will hold a private service of remembrance and celebration of life at a later date.
