Gabriel Segrest passed into the arms of the Lord on Jan. 15, 2021 at his residence in Wharton. He was born April 16, 1992 in Granbury.
Gabriel was a lifelong resident of East Bernard. He graduated from East Bernard High School in 2010. While he was a student there he excelled at sports, especially football, baseball, track and field, and he even set multiple state records in powerlifting! After high school, Gabriel followed in his father’s footsteps and attended Texas State University where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree. Gabriel owned and managed his family business Big G Auto Glass and Big G Properties in Wharton. He loved to fish and watch sports, but what truly made him happy was spending time with his nieces and nephews. The biggest smile he had was when he was with them.
Gabriel is survived by his mother Dianne Segrest (nee Vaclavik) of East Bernard; sister Ginger Wyn Wormell and her husband Michael of Magnolia; brother Geremy Segrest of Wharton; nieces: Reece Genoff, and Payton Wormell; and nephews: Bryce Korhonen, Jackson Dewberry, Landen Wormell, and Brendan Wormell.
He is predeceased by his father Gaylan Wade Segrest in 2006, grandmother Dorothy Segrest in 2014, and lifelong friend Austin Matura in 2015.
