The 100 Club of Wharton County and the City of El Campo are having a fundraiser with proceeds going to purchase roadside signage for a Justin Hurst memorial. 

The fundraiser will be Thursday, Oct. 3 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Crescent Fairgrounds.

This will be drive-thru only with the to-go meals consisting of barbecue chicken with potato salad and pinto beans.

Plates are $10 each.

The dedication is planned for Thursday, Oct. 17.

There will be a dedication at the sign located at SH 71 and Loop 2765 in El Campo. at 10 a.m. Organizers are asking that motorists park their vehicles at Mattress Firm.

A ceremony will follow at the El Campo Civic Center, 2350 North Mechanic Street, in El Campo.
