Cancer Remembrance

School honors survivors, those who lost their lives

Posted: Saturday, October 6, 2012 6:00 am

A student’s grandfather. A teacher’s sister. A parent’s mother. When it comes to cancer, no one is exempt.

That was most evident on Thursday at Faith Christian Academy in Burr. Students, staff and parents gathered to laud those who have beat this tragic disease — and to remember those who lost their lives to it. Around 50 participants showed up, writing personal messages beneath photographs of loved ones on an Honor Wall, listening to guest speakers talk about a family member’s fight against the disease, and taking part in a balloon release.
