On Sept. 3, Wharton police arrested a man who had reportedly been inside the Wharton Public Library after closing.

Det. Ariel Soltura said when police arrived at around 7:13 p.m., a man identified as Jacoby D. Williams was inside a restroom stall.

Soltura said Williams was believed to have used the stall to smoke narcotics.

He was arrested for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.

Williams was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Harris County Sheriff’s Office for the alleged offenses of assault family member and criminal trespass of a habitation.

Soltura said Williams was released to jail staff without incident.
