Investigation under way after allegations of misconduct with student

Posted: Wednesday, May 22, 2013 6:00 am

A Wharton High School teacher has been placed on administrative leave in light of allegations of possible misconduct with a student.

School officials said the female instructor left the campus of her own accord early Friday and will remain on leave — with pay — until an investigation is concluded. Wharton Independent School District Police Chief Landy Williams will oversee that investigation.
