Austin competing for CNFR team roping crown tonight
Cox finishes 17th in barrel racing

CASPER, Wyo. - Wharton County Junior College cowboy Rudy Austin will vie for the team roping championship round tonight in the College National Finals Rodeo at the Casper Events Center.

Austin, of Zachary, La., was tied for first with Jacey "Ace" Slone of Texas A&M University with a five second time after three goes earlier in the week.

Austin didn't get a time in his first attempt on Sunday and then posted a 76.3 second time in his second go on Monday.

WCJC's Shiloh Seale, Georgetown, had no times in three attempts

WCJC cowgirl Lauren Cox of Cotulla, tied for 17th in her third go of barrel racing with a14.65 second time.

She recorded a 14.61 in her first go on Sunday and had a 19.74 time in her second go.

Trey Broussard of Estherwood, La. failed to get a successful attempt in three trys of saddle bronc riding.
