Up in the attic
Wharton firfi.ghter Marshall Johnson exits a home in the 3000 block of FM 1301 with a piece of charred lumber. The fire department was dispatched to the home Thursday afternoon after the residents smelled smoke. Firefighters discovered an electrical issue in the attic and removed smoldering lumber and extinguished a small fire. They had to later return to the house, however, after smoke again was spotted.
