Elizabeth Voulgaris

Memorial services for Elizabeth "Bitsy" Voulgaris were held Sunday, June 8, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Wharton.

Ms. Voulgaris passed away on May 29, 2008 in Houston. She was born to James and Kallaopie Voulgaris on March 18, 1917 in Chicago, Ill.

She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Galveston in October of 1946 and later graduated from St. Francis School of Anesthesia in Peoria, Ill.

She was a longtime resident of Houston and lived for several years in Wharton. She retired from a career in nursing from Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Survivors include her sister in-laws, Valta Voulgaris of Wharton and Jane Voulgaris of Fredericksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Book of Remembrance Memorial Fund in Wharton.
