Superior Band to play at Chicago Blues Festival

Wharton's very own The Superior Band travels to the Windy City to perform at the Chicago Blues Festival June 7.

This is the second year for the group to perfom at the festival.

The music event actually starts on June 5 in Grant Park with Johnny Winter performing.

In 2006, The Superiors they left fans yearning for more of that Texas blues flavor.

The group includes vocalists Lady Audrey Haller, Patrick Green, Odell Gray, Sis Peeola Patterson.

Paul Kearney plays the keyboard, Michael Scott Raschke and Ezequeil Rios Jr. play the guitar and Allen Hunter plays the drums.

The festival is the largest of its kind in the country and attracts a crowd of national and international fans.

The legendary BB King is this year's headliner for the festival.

Buckwheat Zydeco and Lil' Ed & The Blues Interior will joing the Superiors for the Saturday show.

The Superior Band has released two CDs - "No House No Home Without My Man" and "Never Too Old to Get Your Groove On."

They are are currently in the studio working on their much anticipated new release "Big Girls Party."
