Lobpries hits A&M into Saturday's Super Regional College Station - Wharton High grad Jami Lobpries played a major role in extending her own college career by providing an offensive punch that helped advance the Texas A&M softball team to this weekend's Super Regional against Stanford. The fifth ranked Aggies (51- 7) will take on the 12th seeded Lady Cardinals (49-13) in a three-game series this weekend. The teams will play at 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Aggie Softball Complex. Game two will start at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with game three, if necessary, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The winner will advance to the College Softball World Series in Oklahoma City. In the first of two wins over Louisiana Tech in last weekend's regional tournament, Lobpries went 2-for-3 with an RBI. She drove in the first and what proved to be the deciding run in the second inning of a 4-0 win - her 29th RBI of the season. For her performance in the Big 12 Conference play, the senior center fielder was named to the All Big 12 First team outfield. During league play, she hit a .347 in 18 games as well as posting eight multi-hit and multi-RBI games during the year. She was also selected to All Big 12 First team academic for the fourth time.
