      Wharton County Junior College's baseball team returned home from Mount Pleasant Wednesday afternoon after going 4-2 in the Region XIV Tournament at Bob Barker Stadium on the campus of Northeast Texas Community College.

      SHINER - East Bernard's softball team needed two wins over Yorktown Friday night at the Shiner Starplex to advance in the Class 2A playoffs. Yorktown rallied from a 2-0, two-out seventh inning deficit to beat East Bernard 3-2 in Thursday's first game of the Region IV semifinal series.
