Pajama Drive enters final week

The 2nd Annual Pajama Drive to benefit the Wharton County Child Protective Services program by providing new pajamas for children after they have been displaced from their home is entering its final week.

Having started on March 17, the final deadline for accepting donations for this year's drive is May 26. In addition to pajamas, the organizers of the drive are also requesting donations of small stuffed animals, blankets and travel size toiletries.

Donations can be dropped off in Wharton at the Caney Creek Church on the Square Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They can also be dropped off, or arrangements made for pick-up, at the homes of drive organizers Emily Gertson and Shelley DeLuna.

For more information or directions, contact Gertson by calling 531-9565 or DeLuna at 282-8723.
