Alcohol, drug charges

Vicente Rodriguez Chavez, 47, 312 Wharton, El Campo, was booked into the Wharton County Jail at 7:15 a.m. May 12 for driving while intoxicated. He was still in custody as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Dustin Longoria, 21, 503 Lincoln, El Campo, was booked May 11 for driving while intoxicated. He was released on $2,000 bond at 1 p.m. May 11.

James J. Swoboda, 41, 2273 San Bernard, East Bernard, was booked at 1:01 a.m. May 10 for driving while intoxicated-second offense. He was released on $2,500 bond at 9:55 a.m. May 10.

Brandon Jamaul Holmes, 17, 1305 Vallejo Dr., El Campo, was booked at 9:40 p.m. May 9 for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was still in custody as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

James Cougar Lee Montgomery, 26, 86 Sunset, Beaufort, S.C., was booked at 8:52 p.m. for possession of marijuana. He was held on $10,000 bond as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Kevin Robert Shipper, 18, 2401 1st, Beaufort, S.C., was booked at 8:52 p.m. for possession of marijuana. He was held on $10,000 bond as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Ernest Ruiz Melendez, 38, 905 Roth, El Campo, was booked at 6 p.m. May 8 for driving while intoxicated. He was released after serving time at 6 a.m. May 11.

Assault charges

Justin Fitzgerald, 21, P.O. Box 234, Garwood, was booked at 11:45 a.m. May 12 for aggravated assault. He was being held without bond as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Ernesto Rojas, 30, 711 Roth St., El Campo, was booked at 7:15 a.m. May 12 for assault. He was released on $2,500 bond at 11:20 a.m. May 12.

Edwardo Dominguez, 24, 812 W. Fifth, El Campo, was booked May 10 for assault, failure to signal, no white light on bicycle and failure to ride bicycle on shoulder. He was being held on $3,300 bond as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Francisco Martinez, 52, unknown address, was booked at 3 p.m. May 9 for parole violation-aggravated assault. He was released on $50,000 bond at 12:08 p.m. May 12.

Dawn Renee Horelica, 42, 430 Ella, East Bernard, was booked at 8:55 p.m. May 8 for assault-family violence. She was released on $2,500 bond at 2:45 p.m. May 9.

Burglary, theft charges

Saul Padilla, 18, 911 Hillje, El Campo, was booked May 12 for theft by check. He was still in custody as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Byron Lekeith Johnson, 38, 2425 N. Richmond, Wharton, was booked at 10:38 p.m. May 11 for theft. He was still in custody as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Christopher Zielonka, 31, 1337 CR 356, Palacios, was booked May 9 for theft by check. He was released on $1,000 bond at 12:45 p.m. May 9.

Leticia Flores, 23, 811 Alabama, Wharton, was booked May 8 for parole violation-theft by check in Potter County. She was being held on $1,500 bond as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Other charges

Eldrick Gonzales, 18, 602 Washington, Wharton, was booked May 11 for criminal mischief. He was released on $2,000 bond at 1:14 p.m. May 12.

Leonardo Pintor Diaz, 38, of Boling, was booked at 1:15 a.m. May 11 for evading arrest with a vehicle. He was released on $5,000 bond at 1 p.m. May 11.

Abraham Bermea, 43, 1005 W. Fifth, El Campo, was booked at 6:50 a.m. May 10 on non-payment of child support and for an expired driver's license. He was being held on no bond for the child support charge and on $500 bond for the expired driver's license charge as of May 12.

Harvey Stokes, 49, 501 Kearney, El Campo, was booked May 8 for driving with an expired license, defective brake light, possession of drug paraphernalia and four counts of failure to appear. He was being held on $3,500 bond as of 1:15 p.m. May 12.

Jayson McDonald, 38, 3202 Farmers Field, Pearland, was booked May 8 for driving with an expired license. He was released on $2,500 bond on May 8.

Jail population as of 1:15 p.m. May 12 was 107 prisoners.
