Library readies for reading program

May is here and summer is coming. Parents, make sure and mark those calendars to come to the library and register children for the Summer Reading Program, The Texas Reading Club Jubilee: 1958-2008!

The first day of registration is Tuesday, May 27, and programs start the week of June 2. The reading program is open to all children ages 1 to 18. More information will be coming and a complete schedule will be available at time of registration.

Also in May, do not forget the Brown Bag Book Club meeting on Thursday, May 15, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Library Conference Room. Bring a lunch and have an opportunity to join in a lively discussion. This month's selection is My Hands Came Away Red by Lisa McKay.

And parents, bring children to the Toddler Storytime, for ages 18-months to young 3s, every Monday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. This is a great opportunity to have fun with children and help prepare them to be early learners.

Please note the library's holiday and closing schedule for the month of May. Due to the holidays, the library will be closed Saturday, May 24, and Monday, May 26. Also, the library will be closed for a staff development day on Thursday, May 29.
