Ramon Tafolla

Funeral Mass for Ramon P. Tafolla Sr., 80, of Wharton, will be held at 11 a. m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Rev. Don Schwarting will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p. m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Mr. Tafolla was born on Feb. 20, 1928 in Houston to Lazaro "Wesley" and Dolores Perez Tafolla.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Tafolla served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He passed away on April 14, 2008 in Sugar Land.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lazaro and Dolores Tafolla; and sister, Josephine Rivera.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Garcia Tafolla; children, Dolores Hernandez, Leticia Tafolla, Elsa Riehl and Ramon Tafolla Jr.; grandchildren, Lesley Emmons, Shelley Dearing, Ray Anthony Tafolla, Olivia Tafolla and Erika Tafolla; great-granddaughters, Isabel and Gabrielle Emmons and Meaghan Dearing; sister, Helen Robles; and many other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Ramon Tafolla Jr., Ray Anthony Tafolla, Charles Martinez, Keith Emmons, Thomas England, Roland Hernandez, Adolph Robles, Robert Campos and Sotero Luera.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Campos, Carlos Trevino, Oscar Martinez, Felipe Miniel, Lalo Sanchez and Manuel Ramirez.
