Organizations expand services in Wharton

      We are fortunate to have two organizations committed to a bigger presence in Wharton. The Crisis Center has gone from a single room in the Shannon Building to a suite in the General Services, 116 E. Burleson St., the metal building two doors away from the old county jail.

New music club forms in Wharton County
      The newly formed Wharton County Music Club, affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs, held its first Gold Cup Junior Festival at Wharton County Junior College March 14 and 15. Participating teachers were Debra Lemson and Vickey Brooks.

      Paul and Sherry Hoffmann of Wharton announce the engagement of their daughter Erica Lyn Hoffmann of Wharton to Christopher Ryan Cooper of Wharton, son of Christopher Cooper of Wharton and Delia Cooper of Rosenberg. Erica is the granddaughter of Dorothy Hoffmann of Nada.
