Avalon prayer garden needs some love Wharton's Avalon Place is looking for a few good men, and women, volunteers who like to garden. Staff and even administrators are busy digging in the dirt preparing new flower beds for its Prayer Garden which will be on the Wharton Hidden Garden Tour the weekends of May 3 to 4 and May 10 and 11. The property housing the facility's garden was sold recently and now a new garden is being constructed in the front of the nursing facility. Some of the cost for replacing plants was made possible with a donation from the property's purchaser. But more plants and some volunteer sweat is needed to bring the garden to completion by the garden tour dates. If gardeners have extra plants to share or would like to help put in the new beds, call Avalon Place at 532-1244 and talk to Angela Parks. |
