Students get to 'go fly a kite'

Hopper Elementary students finally were able to enjoy their annual Kite Day after rescheduling from early March due to the cold, wet weather.

The students studied weather, focusing on wind speed and direction, temperature, air pressure, clouds and seasons.

The teachers also discussed kite safety and electricity.

The unit was concluded with a trip to Tiger Stadium where students, parents and teachers all enjoyed a breezy afternoon of flying kites.
