Garris Allen

Funeral services for Garris "Tuff" Allen, 69, of Wharton, will be held at 1 p.m. today, Saturday, at New Faith Church. Burial will follow in Wharton City Cemetery.

Mr. Allen died March 29, 2008, at Gulf Coast Medical Center. He was born in Jake Ford Community to the late Same Cole and Ruby Allen.

He worked as a concrete finisher.

Survivors include daughter, Lillie Allen of Houston; sons, Delbert Allen and Vernon Allen, both of Houston; sisters, Carol Ray, Eliza Norris and Patricia Ford, all of Wharton, and Marjorie Clark of Houston; brothers, Melvin Clark of Wharton and Clyde Allen of Brookshire; and four grandchildren.
