      NEWGULF - Boling's baseball team picked up its second biggest win of the season, beating Wharton County rival East Bernard 9-0 Friday night at Bulldog Field. Boling had downed Wharton 5-1 back on Feb. 26 for the first time.

Tigers snap 4-game district losing streak

      BROOKSHIRE - Wharton's baseball team snapped a four game District 24-3A losing streak after beating winless Royal 11-1 Saturday afternoon at Falcon Field. After beating Stafford to open up league play, the Tigers lost to Sweeny, Columbus, Needville and Sealy.

      HOUSTON - East Bernard's softball team took sole possession of second place in the District 27-2A standings after beating Yes College Prep 16-0 Friday afternoon. The Brahmarettes improved to 5-2 in league play and owned a half game lead over county rival Boling.
