Regena Austin

Funeral services for Regena Palmer Austin, 49, of Wharton, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. L.C. Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Bowden Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday.

Ms. Austin died March 28, 2008 at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston. She was born July 3, 1958 in Wharton to Nathaniel and Dorothy Harbert Palmer Sr.

Survivors include mother, Dorothy Palmer of Wharton; daughters, Danielle Austin of Wharton and Shayndrekia Yell of Texas City; brothers, Nathaniel Palmer Jr. of Dallas, Larry Palmer of Richmond and Norris Palmer of Wharton; sisters, Janet Palmer of Wharton and Vivian Dixon of Dallas; and five grandchildren.
