Bessie Macha
      Bessie S. Macha, age 93, of Wharton, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Wharton following an extended illness. She was born on Dec. 25, 1914, the daughter of the late Rudolf Matusek and Mary Liberda Matusek. Mrs. Macha had been a resident of Hungerford and Wharton County all of her life.

      Gerald Charles Smith passed away March 22, 2008 after a determined battle with cancer. Mr. Smith was born on Jan. 14, 1936 in Detroit, Mich., to Maude Sibley Haycock Smith and Fred Charles Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard F. Smith.
