4-H dairy judging team participates at Houston Livestock Show
Krenek comes home with $1,250 scramble certificate

Colleen Krenek of Boling 4-H Buddies calls her parents, Gerard and Theresa Krenek, after winning a $1,250 calf scramble certificate at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
The Wharton County 4-H dairy judging team competed at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 15.

Houston had more than 300 individuals and 75 teams.

The top 20 individuals were awarded scramble certificates unless they had already received a certificate and/or were high school seniors.

Senior dairy judger Colleen Krenek of Boling 4-H Buddies was awarded a $1,250 scramble

certificate. That means she will purchase a beef heifer which she will raise to bring back to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2009.

In the senior division, the team of Colleen Krenek, Shelby Rod, Bethany Weinheimer and Sierra Ledwig finished sixth. Individually, Shelby Rod placed 16th and received a key chain while Colleen placed 26th individually.

In the junior division, the team of Cydni Rod, Korie Couvillion, Kyler Couvillion and Kyler Valenta placed 9th while the team of Michaela Bram, Cheyenne Morton, Brooke Wallace and Danielle Valenta took 10th.

Individually, Michaela Bram placed 14th and received a key chain, Kyler Couvillion placed 23rd and Korie Couvillion placed 26th. All team members gained a lot of experience.
