The tomb is empty - He is risen!

Area Christians will bring holy week celebrations to a culmination with special Easter services today and Sunday.

Here are some churches in the area who will be holding special Easter services this weekend.

First Baptist Church, 507 N. Fulton, will hold Easter services at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

St. John's Lutheran Church, 614 Pecan St., will have Easter Services at 10 a.m. Sunday. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt after the morning services.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church's Easter weekend schedule includes Easter Sunday Service at 8 a.m. followed by a breakfast and then an Easter Egg Hunt. The church is located at 325 N. East Ave.

Camp Zion Rising Star Baptist Church will be having a sunrise service at 5 a.m. on Sunday. Everyone is invited. Breakfast will be served.

College Heights Baptist Church, 1515 Briar Lane, will host an Easter Sunrise Service at 8 a.m.

There will be a Pancake Breakfast at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Sing-a-Long for adults and Easter Egg Hunt for ages up to sixth grade at 9:10 a.m. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by Morning Worship at 10:45 a.m.

Holy Family Catholic Church will hold an Easter Vigil Mass at 8 p.m. today and hold Easter Sunday Mass at 10 a.m.

St. Joseph Catholic Mission in Boling will host an Easter Sunday Mass at 8 a.m.

Grace Community Fellowship's Sunday services will include an Easter Egg Hunt for children at 9 a.m. followed by a Continental Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. An Easter Service with special music begins at 10 a.m. The public is welcome. The church is located at 1900 E. Boling Highway.

St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford will hold an Easter Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. today. Easter Sunday services will be held at 6 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 506 S. East Ave., Easter services include an Easter Vigil Mass at 8 p.m. today. Easter Sunday Masses will be held at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Easter Egg Hunts will be held after each Sunday Mass for children.

St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 207 Bob-O-Link Ln., begins Sunday Easter services at 10:30 a.m. featuring a Festival Eucharist with special Coffee Hour and Easter Egg Hunt.

First United Methodist Church, 1717 Pioneer St., will hold an Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. followed by an Easter Worship Service at 10:30 a.m.

East Bernard

Grace Fellowship in East Bernard is holding an outdoor Easter service this Sunday on Live Oak Lane. The service begins at 10 a.m.

There will be an Easter Egg hunt after the service along with lunch.

There will also be family games and moonwalks for children and youth. If it rains, the event will be held at the church on 118 Leveridge. For directions, call 533-6649.

Crossroads Assembly of God, 301 Wallace, will host a Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Coffee and a Continental Breakfast will be served after the service.

Holy Cross Catholic Church, 839 Church St., will hold an Easter Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. today. Sunday Easter Masses are scheduled for 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Community

Easter Egg Hunt

The Wharton American Legion will host a community Easter Egg Hunt starting at 1:30 p.m. this Sunday at the Wharton American Legion Hall. The event is open to the public and is for children from toddlers to sixth grade.
