Austin crawfish festival set for April 5

The 15th Annual Louisiana Swamp Thing And Crawfish Festival will be held in downtown Austin April 5.

This popular Louisiana themed event features the best in Louisiana cuisine prepared by concessionaires from Louisiana and Texas. Enjoy an extensive menu of Cajun seafood, etouffee, jambalaya, red beans and rice, boudain, and gumbo.

The highlight of the show is 6000 pounds of jumbo crawfish and other bayou favorites. There will be 14 bands of nonstop playing beginning at 11 a.m.The list includes George Clinton & Parliment Funkadelic, Cowboy Mouth, Chubby Carrier And The Bayou Swamp Band, Bonerama, Brian Jack And the Zydeco Gamblers, Dirtfoot, Big Star Burlesque, Same Ol' 2 Step, Marcus Ardoin And The Zydeco Legendz and more.

Gates open at 10 a.m.and music continues until 10 p.m.
