Boling and East Bernard's baseball teams start playing for keeps Tuesday when the District 27-2A baseball season starts.

Boling, 3-4 before playing at the Shiner St. Paul Tournament, hosts Brazos in Newgulf.

East Bernard, 4-6 before playing two games Friday in the St. Paul Tournament, was 4-7.

Danbury hosts Hitchcock in the other game Tuesday.

The Brahmas, under first year coach Doug Grigar, beat the Bulldogs last week in the Schulenburg Stanley- Krist Tournament.

The district rivals split their league games last year as the Brahmas won the district title. They finished with a 8-2 27-2A mark and were eliminated in the area round of the playoffs.

Boling, under first year coach Chad McGee, finished second with a 7-3 mark. Brazos was third at 6-4.

Returnees include Ricky Simpson, Aaron Alexander, Clinton Graves, Jacob Hudman, Chris Plunkett and Cameron Mazoch.

The rest of the roster includes Luis Roldan, Nick Srubar, Anthony Cruz, Zach Rivera, James Powell and Bryce Koening.

Boling's veterans include Trever Archer, Sean Hollis, Justin Hobbs, Tanner Thompson, Kris Henson, Jacob Copeland, Corey McCook, Simon Mendoza, Kris Henson and Koby Sanchez.

Newcomers include Justin Henson and Dustin Ortiz,

After Tuesday's game, the teams take a break until after the Easter holidays and resume play on March 25.

The Bulldogs host the Brahmas on March 28.
