Barbara Jefferson

Funeral services for Barbara Jean Jefferson, age 71, of Hungerford, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at Camp Zion/Rising Star United Baptist Church with Rev. C. Owens Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Zion Cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday.

Ms. Jefferson departed this life on March 2, 2008 at Angleton Danbury Medical Center. She was born Sept. 20, 1936 in Wharton to Waverly and Eula Mae Allen Jefferson Sr.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Allen and Sylvia Jefferson of San Jose, Calif., Isaac and Mary Jefferson and Rev. Delbert and Minnie Jefferson, all of Houston, Waverly and Lois Jefferson Jr. of Angleton and Dr. Lee Roy and Jeanette Jefferson of Perth Amboy, N.J.; sister, Alma Dean Smith of Houston; god-sister, Michelle Harris of Houston; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are under the direction of Gooden-Hatton Funeral Home.
