Spring Sweep returns here

The City of Wharton Beautification Commission and Waste Management are teaming up once again for the annual "Spring Sweep."

The city-wide clean-up will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 15, in the Wharton County Junior College parking lot in front of the girls dorm facing Boling Highway.

Residential trash and debris will be accepted. Items that will not be accepted include: Batteries, pesticides, paint or other chemicals. Auto and pick-up tires will also be accepted, though tractor and big truck tires will not.

Once dumpsters are full, the project will be over.

Only city residents may participate. Proof of residency is required.
