Reducing the risk Staff Photo by Benjamin Sharp  A bulldozer moves dirt on the slope of the U.S. 59/FM 102 overpass, just above Nan Ya Plastics Corp. The Texas Department of Transportation plans to open up the feeder road in front of the plastic plant and place a traffic signal where the road intersects with 102. The road directly across the way, which runs in front of Whataburger and the hospital, will be realigned to match the frontage road. A highway crossover utilized by trucks from Nan Ya and J-M Manufacturing will also be closed down as part of the project. An accident there last year killed two people.
