El Campo native and singer songwriter Stephanie Briggs takes the Wharton Plaza Theatre stage Friday night for the second show in this year's concert series.
"I hear there's a lot of excitement out there about the show," said Plaza Theatre show spokesman Candyce Byrne.
Advanced tickets, priced at $10, are still on sale.
They may be purchased on line at www.whartonplazatheatre. org/tickets.
Briggs will be joined by husband Matthew, who has been performing for over 10 years.
"Places like the Plaza Theatre are actually places that I would prefer to play in, said Briggs, who calls New Braunfels home.
"We're really looking forward to it," said Briggs. "Playing near home with all my friends is my favorite part about it."
They'll play two sets, on acoustic and on electric.
They once played in the Rodger Wilko Band before going on their own.
"It's a lot less hassle with only two people," said Briggs. "It's a lot easier."
Briggs is currently finishing up her third CD, which will be released in the summer. She's already written all of her songs.
"I write fairly often and do a project where I write a song a week. I record it and put it up on my Web site," said Briggs.
The site is located at www. myspace.com/stephaniebriggsmusic.
Chris and Mike Sears will provide music before Briggs' show, which starts at 8 p.m.
There will be a live jam session after Briggs' show.
