Bulldogs drop season opener

NEWGULF - Sealy picked up a run in the top of the sixth inning to beat Boling 2-1 in Tuesday's season opener at Bulldog Field.

Sealy jumped out to a 1-0 lead in fourth and Boling tied the game in the bottom of the inning.

Dustin Ortiz singled home Koby Sanchez; who reached on a base hit.

Justin Hobbs also had a hit for the Bulldogs.

Sean Hollis went the distance on the mound and gave up two runs on two hits. He struck out 12 and walked two.

Boling play St Paul at 1 p.m. today at the Starplex in Shiner.

The Bulldogs visit Wharton county rival Wharton at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and competes in the Rice Consolidated Invitational Tournament later next week
