Lady Tigers dealt 10-0 loss by Bellville

BELLVILLE - Wharton's softball team ran into some stiff competition against Bellville Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers dropped a 10-0 decision to the Brahmanettes and slipped to 4-3 on the season.

"Bellville hit the ball well and their pitcher shut us down," said Wharton coach Shauna Eller.

Bellville exploded for six runs in the second and picked up one more in the fourth to go up 7-0.

The Brahmanettes made it 8-0 in fifth and added two more runs in the sixth.

Jael Ramirez went the distance for Wharton in the circle.

She gave up 10 runs on nine hits, striking out seven and walking six.

Wharton totaled only three hits in the game. Paige Mata singled in the fourth, Amber Rodriguez had a base hit in the fifth and Christie Viktorin singled in the sixth.

Wharton was schedule to play Danbury Friday night and visits Bay City on Tuesday.
