Ismael Escobar-Sanchez, 19, 703 Tennie, Wharton, was booked into Wharton County Jail at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday for intoxicated manslaughter. He was held on $300,000 bond as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Christopher Hackney, 25, 1704 Lampley, El Campo, was booked at 6 p.m. Wednesday for possession of marijuana (conviction). He was held as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Russell Lee Zahradnik, 31, 4903 CR 211, Wharton, was booked Tuesday on a warrant for possession of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and failure to appear. He was released at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on $1,000 bond.

James Barnet Thompson, 49, 501 W. Willow No. 58, Wharton, was booked Tuesday for possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, failure to appear and public intoxication. He was held on $834 in fines as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Michael Mendez, 24, of Houston, was booked Tuesday for possession of marijuana and no driver's license. He was held on $3,000 bond as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Steven Escamilla, 32, 803 Cotton, El Campo, was booked Monday on warrants for possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment. He was held as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Burglary, theft charges

Alonzo Louis Mabry, 44, 612 Lundy Ave., El Campo, was booked at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday for burglary of a building, possession of drug paraphernalia and bond forfeiture. He was held as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Assault charges

David Esparza Guerra, 53, 206 Gallaher, Wharton, was booked at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday on an assault warrant. He was held on $5,000 bond as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

K.C. Charmaine Curtis, 18, RR 2 Box 192, El Campo, was booked Tuesday on a warrant for assaultfamily violence. He was released at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday on $2,500 bond.

Other charges

Michol N. Garza, 28, 603 Bell, Wharton, was booked at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday for three counts of failure to appear, failure to maintain financial responsibility, expired registration and public intoxication. She was held as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Manuel Valdez Padilla, 23, 205 S. Wharton, El Campo, was booked at 4:37 p.m. Wednesday for probation violation. He was held as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Cedal Rogers Sr., 60, 310 University, Wharton, was booked Tuesday for failure to appear and a warrant for failure to display driver's license. He was released at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on $1,000 bond.

Timothy Edwards, 42, 2208 Pecan Valley No. 267, Eagle Lake, was booked Monday for bond forfeiture. He was released at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Kenneth Gottschald, 46, 11535 FM 442, Boling, was booked Monday for probation violation. He was held without bond as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
