Annie Luna Annie Marie Luna, age 57, of Rosenberg died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born on Sept. 9, 1950 in Wharton, the daughter of Manuel and Julia Alcorta Gomez and granddaughter of Rita Alcorta. She was a longtime resident of Wharton, marrying Baudelio Luna on April 16, 1983. She lived her last 12 years happily in Rosenberg. Mrs. Luna worked for the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District before being diagnosed with her illness. The time spent with family and friends were her most cherished moments. Funeral services will be held, today, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Wharton Funeral Home. Public viewing will begin 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with services following. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her husband, Baudelio Luna of Rosenberg; daughters, Sylvia Salinas of Richmond, Mercy Salinas of Richmond and Jessica Luna of Rosenberg; sons, Rene Salinas Jr. and wife, Esmiralda, of Houston, Mario Salinas and companion Cynthia Garcia of Wharton and Alex Luna of Rosenberg; grandchildren, Phillip, Julia, Sabrina, Miguel, Camille, Joshua and Anthony; sisters, Yolanda Mata and husband Daniel of Wharton, Alice Daniel and husband Jose of Wharton and Mary Driscoll and husband Fidel of Needville; brothers, Ruben Gomez and wife Sally of Beaumont, Manuel Gomez and companion Kate of Port Lavaca, Samuel Gomez Sr. and wife Beatrice of Boling and Rick Gomez and wife Arlene of Plainview. Pallbearers will be Rick Salinas Jr., Fidel Driscoll Jr., Steve Driscoll, Roy Garza, Sam Gomez Jr. and Manuel Luna. Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home. |
