Brahmas win 27-2A finale

EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's boys basketball team closed out its season with a 77- 74 win over Can Academy Tuesday night in Brahma Gym.

The Brahmas finished with a 3-11 District 27-2A record and 4-22 season mark.

Van Vleck and Hitchcock tied for the district lead with 12-2 records. They'll play again Friday to determine playoff seedings.

Third place Brazos beat Boling 66-42 to improve to 104 and secured the final playoff spot.

Yes College Prep finished fourth with a 8-6 record and Can Academy was fifth at 6-8. Boling also finished with a 3-11 record and Danbury was 2-12.

The Brahmas jumped out to a 23-18 lead after the first quarter and went up 40-32 at halftime.

The Brahmas outscored the Panthers 16-13 in the third quarter to go up 56-45

Can rallied back in the final eight minutes of the game to outscore EB 19-11.

Mike Hayes led the Brahmas with 20 points. He also had four assists.

Matt Stelzel finished with 18 points, seven rebounds one steal and five assists.

Lance Crump contributed with nine points, 14 rebounds and two assists.

Bryce Koenig had six rebounds and two blocked shots. Cory Slater and Tanner LaBore each had a steal.
