Jose Trevino

Jose Trevino, age 52, of Houston and formerly of Wharton County, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born on Oct. 10, 1955 in Newgulf, a son of the late Bernardo Trevino Sr. and Petrita Flores Trevino.

Mr. Trevino was reared in the Boling area and attended Boling and Bay City schools. He attended Wharton County Junior College and Sam Houston State University earning a degree as a paralegal. Mr. Trevino was a member of Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in Houston. He worked as a contract administrator for Veolia Environmental Services in Houston. Mr. Trevino enjoyed dancing, boating, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his close friend Raymond House.

Visitation will begin on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 6 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home chapel led by Deacon David Valdez. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2008 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.

Survivors include his siblings; Dominga T. Lopez of Clute, Lupita Gonzales of Wharton, Julia Estraca and husband Santos of Bay City, Petra Chavez of Bay City, Florence Reyes and husband Johnnie of Richmond, Victoria Bilski and husband Daniel of Wharton, Eusebia Trevino of Bay City, Frank Trevino and wife Andrea of Victoria, Bernardo Trevino Jr. and wife Eva of Victoria, George Trevino of Boling and Pete Trevino of Bay City. Special family Rhonda Speed and husband Rodney, Christine Speed and husband Ronnie, Raymond Zimmerman and Eric Zimmerman, Bill House and wife Elaine and Margie Smith and husband Jonathon. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends are also left to mourn the death of Mr. Trevino.

Pallbearers will be Michael Trevino, Robert Gonzalez, Stephen Estraca, Bernardo Trevino III, Matthew Trevino and Santos Estraca Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Reyes, Ricky Chavez, Peyton Speed and Brodey Speed.

In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 506 S. East Ave, Wharton, TX 77488; or Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, 1111 Pierce, Houston, TX 77002- 8195.

Funeral services are under the arrangement of Wharton
