Softball season starts Tuesday

The Wharton, Boling and East Bernard softball teams crank up their respective seasons on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers host county rival El Campo in a 6:30 p.m. contest at Pleasure Park North which is located behind the Knights Of Columbus Hall. The team's normal playing location, Sydney Johnston Field, is being renovated.
Boling plays Tidehaven in Blessing at 6 p.m. and East Bernard plays Hallettsville at the same time.
Returning for Shauna Eller's Lady Tigers are pitcher Jael Ramirez; infielders Paige Mata, Heather Reynolds and Brittany Gutierrez and outfielders Sharneace Johnson, Megan Drenner and Christie Viktorin.
Catcher Liz Reyes moved to East Bernard.
Boling's returnees include Stephanie and Whitney Rachunek, Kelsey Stolle, Kassie Nash, Katie Womack, Caprice Lorenzen, Beth Llanas, Jessica Marak, Paige Bucek, Elaina Esquivel, and Joy Grannum- Jourdan.

East Bernard's returnees in include junior pitcher Courtney Repka who pitched several nohitters and struck out over 320 batters.
Also back is Paula Lopez, Laura Kubes, Samantha Wasek, Haley Dawson, Kayla Tovar, Brittney Wilcox, Anna Giannetti, Elexis Delgado, Kimi Hensarling and Cameron Kieler.
Later in the week, Wharton plays at the Marble Falls Tournament, Boling plays at the Capitol Classic in West Columbia and the Brahmarettes play in the Hempstead Tournament.
