Boling EB boys golf teams play in Columbia tournament

WEST COLUMBIA - Boling and East Bernard's boys golf teams competed in Monday's Columbia Invitational Tournament held at Columbia Lakes.

Host Columbia took the tournament championship with an 18-hole team total of 337.

Calhoun was second with a 342, East Bernard was third with a 360, Bay City was fourth with a 368, Boling was fifth with a 379, Foster was sixth with a 385, Edna was seventh with a 389, Angleton was eighth with a 393, Dickinson was ninth with a 395, El Campo was 10th with a 399, Sweeny was 11th with a 433, Danbury was 12th with a 486 an Angleton's 2nd team was 13th with a 510.

Columbia's Jake Mayfield fired a 77 to take first place medalist.

East Bernard's Stocks Bradley shot a 78 to take second.

Brahma Jared Minks and a Calhoun golfer tied for third with 79 scores.

Also for East Bernard, Cameron Mazoch shot a 101, Taylor Valigura shot a 102 and Matt Stelzel shot a 103.

For Boling, Douglas Mach shot an 80 and it ranked fifth overall among the 91 golfers.

Bulldog Jordan Pinson shot a 94, Cody Price shot a 98, Kevin Ferrell shot a 100, Jacob Copeland shot a 101, Ryan Rolf shot a 102, Rusty Vogler shot a 115 and Dustin Ortiz had a 124.

The Columbia girls tournament was played on Tuesday.

Boling, East Bernard along with Whartonwill play in the Sweeny Invitational Tournament next Monday at Rio Colorado in Bay City.
