      LOUISE - Wharton's, Boling's and East Bernard's boys and girls powerlifting teams ran into some stiff competion at Saturday's 4th Annual Louise Invitational. Host Louise took the girls title with 52 points.

      WEST COLUMBIA - Boling and East Bernard's boys golf teams competed in Monday's Columbia Invitational Tournament held at Columbia Lakes. Host Columbia took the tournament championship with an 18-hole team total of 337.

      Softball and baseball teams in the area continue their respective scrimmage schedules in preparation for the up coming season that starts later in the month. In softball, Wharton scrimmaged Bay City on Tuesday.

Pioneers own 5-2 season record
      WCJC's baseball team owns a 5-2 record after playing doubleheaders with Panola and Lon Morris this weekend at Tiger Field WCJC beat Panola 6-2 and lost to Fillies 5-3 on Saturday. Then on Sunday, WCJC swept the Bearcats by 4-3 and 6-5 scores.

      STAFFORD - Wharton's boys basketball team remained in third place in the District 24-3A standings despite losing to Stafford 64-53 Friday night in Spartan Gymnasium. Wharton slipped to 7-4 and played 3-8 Sealy Tuesday night.

Boling girls finish District 27-2A play with 5-9 record
      BOLING - Boling girls basketball team finished it's season with a 5-9 District 27-2A record after picking up two wins. The Lady Bulldogs beat Danbury 50-47 in The Doghouse last Friday and then collected a 2-0 forfeit win over Houston Can Academy on Tuesday.
