Wharton salons cutting hair for cancer research

      Nearly every family in America has been impacted by family members with cancer. Hoping for a cure, local beauty salons in Wharton, Glen Flora and El Campo are hosting Cuts For Cancer events this weekend to raise funds for American Cancer Society research.

El Campo grows with $24 million in projects

      El Campo continues to grow both in residential and retail areas with more than $24.5 million in construction starts last year, according to data compiled by the city Inspections Department. That's in comparison to about $5.5 million in new construction starts last year.
