Bulldogs rally falls short BOLING - A fourth quarter rally by Boling's boys basketball team fell short as Yes College Prep held on for a 72-64 win in The Doghouse Tuesday night. "The kids played hard once again but still fell short," said Boling coach Kevin Majewski. "We did a good job of getting back in the game after falling behind by 16 early in the 4th." The Bulldog had three chances to tie the game at 66-66 with just over a minute left but couldn't come up with the big basket. Yes Prep took advantage of free throw opportunities and were six of six down the stretch. Boling fell behind 12-9 after the first quarter and trailed 26-21 at halftime. The Wizards outscored the Bulldogs 28-17 in the third quarter to go up 54- 38 before Boling rallied back to make it close. Boling slipped to 1-7 in the District 27-2A standings and played 7-1 Van Vleck Friday night. The Leopards beat East Bernard, 2-6, on Tuesday. The Wizards were 5-3 before playing Danbury, which was 1-7. League-leading Hitchcock beat Houston Can Academy 56-47 and was 8-0 before playing Brazos, which was 5-3. Freshman Dennis Hemphill led the Bulldogs with a season high of 27 points. Justin Hobbs contributed with 17 points and also had three assists. B.W. McLeod scored seven points and had three assists. Dupree Taylor finished with six points and 10 rebounds. Tanner Thompson and Kevin Ferrell scored two points each. Ferrell also had nine rebounds. Coming up Tuesday, Boling hosts county rival East Bernard. 27-2A Boys Standings
