GCMC partners with Morrison food service

To further enhance Gulf Coast Medical Center's dining service program and continue to provide exceptional care and quality to the community, the medical center is pleased to announce the food and nutrition employees will join the Morrison Healthcare Food Services team.

This is not a cost savings measure for Gulf Coast Medical Center but rather a quality improvement decision, said GCMC CEO Donnie Frederic.

Because GCMC and Morrison share a commitment to quality and team member development and growth, the food and nutrition associates can benefit through additional resources and expanded career paths, he said.

"Our food and nutrition employees will receive the best of both worlds.

"They will have continued relationships with their medical center family while working for a company that focuses on their food service career," Frederic said.

Frederic added Morrison has a very compatible culture to GCMC, saying that Morrison fully supports the medical center's core commitment to quality patient care.

He said that Morrison's culture focuses on providing a workplace that respects diversity, provides opportunity, respects individuals' opinions, encourages growth, and has the added benefit of being a company that specializes in quality food services.
