Boling High School - Best of Show winner is Amanda Youngblood's "Bluebonnets of Dawn." Gold Medal winner is Katie Kahanek's "The End of a Long Day." Their art teacher is Joines.
The art show for Boling was held at Reliant Center on Jan. 10.
Winning students received rodeo tickets and will travel to Houston to participate in the awards presentation ceremony on March 8. There they will be receiving medals and trophies.
The winning art pieces will be on display in the Hayloft Gallery which is located in the foyer of the Reliant Center for the duration of the rodeo.
"I am very proud of all of the students who participated in the rodeo art competition," said Joines. "My students worked very hard to finish their artwork to the best of their ability and are very proud of their accomplishments. I'm hoping that one of my ten seniors who participated will get one of the $15,000 Scholarships."
There are only 15 scholarships given out for the school art program that can be used at any Texas university for any degree program. "That's not bad for drawing one picture," she said.
All other rodeo art ribbon winners will be on display at their respective schools.
"I hope everyone will stop by and enjoy the fantastic student artwork," Joines said.
